Entertainment is in a way life to the Ugandan Diaspora Community. It’s an outlet for joy and entertainment when you are far away from home, it’s a place where you can feel at home, and it’s a place where you can connect with your roots.
It is common knowledge that Ugandan diaspora communities all over the world are always looking for ways to connect with their homeland and people, but not many know about the difficulties in producing events and promoting them.
The music industry has changed drastically with the advent of social media. The lack of a real music industry means you can’t count on radio, TV, or any traditional media to promote your music. This is where social media comes in.The bottom line is, if your music doesn’t get played on radio, TV, and your friends and fans can’t get your music on Spotify and other music platforms, there is a real possibility you will struggle to make a living as a musician. You can either buy advertising space on social media to reach your target audience or create your own space where your target audience will find you.
It’s really exciting to be a part of this amazing community. I’m so glad that we have created an event production and promotion company because there are great needs in the Ugandan Diaspora Community, some of which include: – Providing cultural support for Ugandans who return home after living abroad for many years; – Promoting Uganda as a tourist destination and source of investment opportunities; – Connecting people within the diaspora with each other, their families, friends and communities back home.
